Manufacturing
Manufaturas is the name of this series in which I deepen a previous gesture: the production of works in series from a positive sculptural mold. The fragment is central to my practice. I feel like a piece of the world and I embrace that. The series stresses the idea of fragmentary pornography, which can be tacky, kitsch, even ridiculous, and yet profoundly valid. It is a gesture that asserts itself in sexual diversity, in the multiplicity of stories that a body or a piece of matter can carry. Unlike previous experiences, here each work is named with a serial number. This gesture of seriality transforms each piece into an identifiable unit within a system, but without eliminating its singularity.
From these repetitions, I begin to create versions. Each one carries small stories, fragments of thoughts that cross my mind. I do not seek linearity; on the contrary, I allow multiple narratives to emerge freely, as if they were small tattoos on concrete. I paint, decorate, ritualize. Sometimes, the work becomes a political commentary; at other times, a reliquary of secrets.
