Meditação do Teto Preto is a series that is based on a descriptive and illustrative proposal of intense psychic experiences, lived under the influence of hallucinogenic substances or through deep meditation. These are encounters with what I call the "Black Ceiling" or the "Hole", borderline zones of perception where time and space dissolve. This series dialogues directly with the Lacanian real , that which escapes full symbolization. It is an attempt to portray the object a , that residue of desire and anguish that sometimes appears as genitals, as absence or as excess. Each work seeks to give form to this immensity, to the moments in which the real presents itself in a wild state. Visually, these images function as portals because they can be taken as Yantras, mandalas or symbolic mirrors. They are invitations to contemplate a dense void, a void where perhaps the very desire to exist resides.
